I think someone should host an annual OTB cheating tournament with really high prizes to win. The rules are: You have to cheat somehow. But if someone discovers how you are cheating, you are disqualified. You have to prove after the tournament that you cheated by showing how. Knowing all the tricks will lead to better protection of the other tournaments.

The secret goal of Hans Nieman has been to cause the anti-cheating measures for OTB to be strengthened. He *wants* to play _naked chess_ against the top-level.

It would be cool to see you play against Hikaru/Naroditsky but you can cheat up to three moves a game

The most shocking thing about this drama for me, is finding out how many GMs have been found to have cheated. Even in the top 100!

For Hans, I can only imagine that as each bead of this drama gets pulled into the open it’s uncomfortable, painful even, but when the entire thing is finally out it’s actually going to be something of a relief.

26:56 "I cheated (in a prized event) because I was bored and want to see how good the cheat detection team was " is just an embarrassing excuse to say....(by the other confessed GM)

The fact that so many GMS confessed to this actually shocked me. There were like a dozen of those around 2650, this is near super GM level.

Hans Niemann got the Dream "Statistical Report" treatment lmao

Hans really tried the "I didn't cheat except when I got caught!" manuever, but sadly it did not pay off.

The most shocking part of this video was the lack of Levy’s second long pause at the beginning of the video

From the speedrunning scene, it really is no surprise. It is generally in higher level that cheating is more common because the player only need that just little tiny push more to be better, even after hours of study and practice

"Ratings play no part because players can overperform or underperform..." Did the report just describe Guess The Elo? 😂

I liked the part where Magnus shouted "its Carlsen time" and Carled all over Hans

Levy Another thoughtful and articulate video. You are quoted in the report (Section VI) as you mention, that a proficient player will only need to use help for a very few moves per game to gain an unfair advantage. While it is very sad, I still feel the majority of players want to play fair. The game is still sound across the vast majority of the chess playing community and perhaps the stress (and money pressures) on high rated players drives this behaviour. Perhaps the main thought here is that cheaters will eventually be found out. Great content as always. Best wishes and regards from across the pond.

He should've pulled a Dream and harassed the Chess mods, only to, half a year later text them an "I'm sorry for lying" while in his bathtub because he forgot to take off his earpiece that day

This also shows how crazy strong Vincent Keymar is. Looking forward to see what hes going to achieve. Exciting times to be a chess fan with all the new guys and obviously with Magnus. Just hope this drama is over soon
