How To Get Rid Of Hyperpigmentation! | Dr Hani

Показать описание

This video chronicles the process of removing of excess pigmentation - hyperpigmentation, (darker skin) around the mouth and eyes and from acne scarring (non-raised). Hyperpigmentation is especially common among PoC but there is little available scientific data as to tackling this issue. I have collated and reviewed the existent literature and formulated a tried and tested approach. #drhaniskin

TIMESTAMPS ⬇️
1. Why I am interested in Skincare for PoC and a little about me: 0:00-4:46
2. What causes hyperpigmentation? 4:47-9:49
3. How does this routine fix hyperpigmentation? 9:50-24:49
4. Dr Hani’s pigmentation routine!: 24:50-32:29
5. How long will it take to see results? 32:30

EXAMPLES OF PRODUCTS ⬇️
(not necessarily my personal preference, just the easiest to source/cheapest, so read labels and allergens CAREFULLY!)

AHA TONER
REMEMBER! Mandelic Acid is best in PoC & those with sensitive skin!

ACTIVES

KOJIC ACID
(could not find one that I would recommend 😭, I will update this as I keep looking, I personally use a product from Japan; Victoria Health Kojic Acid Serum)

ALPHA ARBUTIN ⬇️

ASCORBIC ACID (aka Vitamin C). 2 types ⬇️
- higher strength and more effective, but slightly irritant version

- best version for sensitive skin as Vit C can be irritant at higher strengths (slightly less potent though…)

AZELAIC ACID ⬇️

NIACINAMIDE ⬇️
(forgot to mention that ideally this shouldn't be combined with Vitamin C, so use this in the AM under your moisturiser if using Vit C in the evenings)

OCCLUSIVE ⬇️
Vaseline works perfectly, but Aquaphor is slightly nicer imo (a bit smoother and contains glycerin (great humectant) and lanolin (emollient from wool wax so not vegan)
- not gonna leave a link for Vaseline lmao
AQUAPHOR ⬇️

I really hate implied racism. "Thete are no products for people of color, for problems they face." SO make some!! Nobody is stopping you. People of color have the same rights and oppurtunities as everyone else but usually piss it away on booze, drugs, and brand name material bs!! Get your black dermatologists together and make products you need. Why you always relying on someone else??

I'm sorry but I wasn't even paying attention for the first three minutes because I was too distracted by how beautiful her skin is.

I am a black man who has been struggling all his life with hyperpigmentation in his face and body and it is the first time in my life that I know what to do to prevent and disappear my dark spots. I really want to thank you for all this valuable information!! I have months of using all the products that you mentioned and the results show in the first 2 weeks. Again thank you from the bottom of my heart and keep up the good work. Thanks for all this valuable information that every person with dark skin needs to know!!

I actually appreciate this because I am white and I have dark skinned clients and I have never had dark skin, obviously, and I want to be able to help them. I’m going to be studying so I can love their skin and be educated on how to better treat them so they can see lasting results ❤️

It's been 3.5 months since I've started using your advice. My stash only consists of 1/2 of the actives you recommended-- azelaic acid and vitamin c. I'm happy to say that my hyperpigmentation (that's been there for years) is finally fading. Thank you Dr!

Thank you so much for this sis❤️ Here's what I took from this vid:
•Spots➡️ inflammation stimulates melanosites to give out more melanin causing hyperpigmentation
•Our melanosites are more active than yt people
•UV rays act on the melanosite so stimulates more melanin
•Oestrogen and progesterone increase melanin production
•Tyrosine is broken using tyrosinase to make Melanin so we need tyrosinase inhibitors - ie •Hydroquinone-skin bleach❌, •Azelaic Acid-, •Kojic Acid- irritant, •Vitamin C/L/Ascorbic Acid, •Alpha-Arbutin
•Niacinimide- blocks melanosites, moisture
•Alpha hydroxy acids - exfoliants ie glycolic, lactic, mandelic✅ (in order of penetration) dehydrate skin
•Sun screen breaks down every 2hrs
•Night time routine (less light because it's photo sensitive)
1.Mandelic Acid Toner
2.Alpha Arbutin
3.Kojic Acid
4.Vitamin C/L Ascorbic
5.Azaleic
6.Occlusive forms a barrier from your skin- vaseline
•Takes 6 weeks for skin to regenerate- skin has 5 layers, younger= shorter cycle
•2/3 cycles = RESULTS

We need more black women demonologist who understands our skin and recommend suitable products for our skins. All the AHA, BHA acid etc are not suitable for black skins but Mandelic acid.

Very excited to try this routine. Would if you could post a video about maintaining results once the hyperpigmentation is cleared up. Thanks so much, love and peace be unto
