Something about Hexclad “Hybrid” Cookware

A few words about a fancy set of frying pans being pushed on TikTok and other media. For only $600, you could own a set of these pans -- pans that can do everything a cast iron skillet can do! Amazing!

Hexclad pans are worth every penny. Had them for years and still look brand new.

l have 3 rough looking old unmarked pans l got from a neighbour who passed away l am going to spray Oven Cleaner on them this week. My first attempt at cleaning 'new to me' cast iron and l am looking forward to see how it goes. The only cost to me will be the oven cleaner to clean off the years of crustiness.

As someone who has litterly every type of skillet out there ( including visions).. stainless is the do all skillet.. anything requiring a season can’t cook acidic foods. Non stick can’t handle high temp aerosol non stick sprays, or abrasives. Visions and other glass skillets.. well.. don’t drop it very hard and it heats uneven and slowly, heavy. The only thing about stainless is that first scratch kills you.

You could get two or three good cast-iron pieces at a thrift store for $20, even. Might need reseasoning. I doubt these newfangled skillets will ever be found in usable condition in a thrift store fifty years hence.

As an old retired professional chef I agree but caution to make sure it’s a heavy cast iron and not a cheap import Of course season it first

I’ll buy that Walmart pan, the same day I stop buying Nikes, and start getting my shoes at Walmart.

Cast iron needs a lot of care and maintenance. The majority of people just need a pick and use pan. Hex clad is definitely overpriced and 25% of the cost is probably for the packaging alone (which is excessively unnecessary)

nice, comparing a 13 peace set to 1 pan that you have to preseason, cant go long without using it or itll rust and weights 3x more than a hexclad one

Cast iron is not nonstick…soooo. Hexclad isn’t high maintenance. I have a set of cast-iron skillets that I don’t even use because of the maintenance. I just bought 18 pieces of hexclad and it’s absolutely beautiful! Sturdy, versatile, and did I mention nonstick? Did I mention the lifetime warranty? To each his own 😊😊

Instantly refunded my HexClad I just tried having sent through the mail a few hours ago this made me feel really stupid for spending so much money on a pan.

Cast iron maintenance is a pain in the ass though..

I mean cast iron is great for cooking evenly but they are not very good in the non stick realm... you need tons of oil

Well that’s funny TickTock is owned by the Chinese

I watched a review of these pans. They are Teflon coated and the coating has been rubbed away exposing the stainless steel underneath in that pattern. The Teflon will still wear away and food still sticks.

Good point! But cast iron isn't nonstick and can't be put in the dishwasher. The hclad can
