The combination of quality parts and materials, unique designs, smart manufacturing choices, and an overall commitment to excellence make the U-Turn Orbit Special a great buy for anyone looking for a turntable around $500. It’s fun to listen and looks beautiful, no matter which wood finish you choose.

I ordered my Orbit Special. and the main reason I did so was because it's Made in America!

I have an Orbit Custom that's basically a Special with an Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge and I love it!

WOW. Very interesting to learn about U-Turn's tactics as far as how they save money on high quality parts, which in turn saves me money. Great company, great design!

concerned about the tilt of the drive wheel under tension. what? isn't this just going to break at some point?

Regarding the inverted bearing for the platter described in the video... is this component any different from what's included with U-Turn's cheaper turntables? What about the tonearm or the motor?

None of these are advertised on U-Turn's website as being unique to the Orbit Special, but are described in great detail in this review of the Special.

Do i need to ground this turn table (no preamp) if im connecting it to a speaker with built-in preamp inside the speaker?

Do any of the Orbit turntables come with auto shut off or, at least, auto tonearm raise at the end of the album?

I love this turn table but there's one reason I wont buy it, it doesn't come with the quick Connect head shell to quickly change out your cartridge If they did have that I would order one right now

I have two Items I don't understand. Why didn't they have the indent ground near the center of the acrylic platter to allow records to lie on the acrylic? Why add anti-skate for only one down force? Do they believe a high end cart will never be used? At the price they are charging, there are competitive turntables that have better features, and yet the turntables are very popular.

I’d rather have the Fluance RT85 Turntable than this U Turn.

For this Money Fluance RT85 looks better and seems more precise on speed.

A very good oil for this type of bearing is 'nose oil'. Sounds strange but, I calibrate high sensitivity scales and the oil we use for the weight table is nose oil, just rub the ball on your nose and it is good to go.

I could believe what I heard. They buy the least expensive motors because 90 per cent of them work okay.

$500 for $150 turntable I think I'm being generous at that most expensive thing on that turntable is the cartridge

Looks nice but that is all it's going.
Way over priced, everything is extra.

That nasty power switch puts me off this product 🤢🤢

These reasonably well made and still inexpensive turntables are mystery to me. How much profit can they make? Very little I think or nothing. They are just causing lot of harm to serious turntable manifacturers.
