New subscriber here. You're 100% right about velocity banking as you can skin a cat more than one way. Dave Ramsey is great, but the snowball method just didn't do it for me as I couldn't fathom giving up spending time with family and not having any sort of life for years while I worked on paying off my $175, 000 of consumer debt not including the house. Time and memories with my friends and family is something you just can't get back just so I could go deliver pizzas (a second job) for people that don't give a crap about me and eating unhealthy food (rice and beans) causing possible health issues, but for some people that may work for them simply because they don't know any other way. On the back side of that debt mountain in a relatively short amount of time and still enjoy a vacation a year going somewhere overseas and still afford a grilled steak or two either at home or at a nice restaurant with my wife all while I watch my balances fall off every week.
