Edit :TLDR: Important needed features for a student(with adhd):
1. Audio recording synced to notes
2. Works well with external mic for better quality in a large room or lector hall
3. pen of course

Audio recording synced to handwritten or typed notes like OneNote on Windows/Surface (or ipad note apps, but without a time limit (like OneNote Android[🤌🤌unusable 3min!?🤌🤌]) is an essential feature for myself, an older returning student with ADHD. I can simply print a presentation slide deck/pdf, etc... into OneNote and then as(typo edit) the lecture goes, circle a bit on a slide or make a small note, and jump to that spot in the recording later. I also had to use an external usb mic for greater clarity in a lecture hall /large classroom.

Is there anything that works well for that? OneNote on android, thus boox, has a 3 min limit and doesn't do it well. Is there an option that works for this using an eink? Or not until an eink with windows?

Edit: this feature makes it hard to use eink for my full time class notebook, and get away from a Surface as my notebook for eye health.

I've also found MorningCoach JB Glossinger to be helpful in this area of eink productivity. I've heard him mention Voja and MDG in a very positive manner

Could you try to connect via remote desktop (or other similar app) an e-ink tablet (Onyx Boox Tab Ultra ?) and run a CAD software like Solidworks? It would be interesting to see if it can be used like on a normal tablet.

I actually have a specific use-case that I've never seen addressed anywhere.
I'm severely visually impaired, 100% blind in my left eye & decreased field of vision, decreased color & contrast+very poor low-ish light vision in my right eye.

I play weekly table-top roleplaying games (yep, dice, miniatures, peculiar math, the works), and I have used a reMarkable 1 for several years, but I've had increased difficulty using it due to less than optimal lighting conditions. I've recently bought a BOOX Notei Air 2+, and the light on that is nicely bright, but it fades the contrast, which I've adjusted to the highest setting and some less high settings.

Am I just out of luck with e-ink? Should I go back to oled/lcd screens? Am I missing a product?
