You sent me down about 25 rabbit holes during this video. By the time I finished it, I realized it had taken a little over an hour to get through it....definitely worth it and much appreciated.

I have a number of these apps already but just want to say they your YouTube videos are great. From vids like this one to guitar demonstrations and comparisons they’re great. Keep it up. If I lived in Texas I’d come in and talk to you direct. Thanks.

I have used Chorderator for years to find chords in different positions. It has other instruments also. Really easy, type the chord you want then start playing. Thanks Chris I’m going to try some of those apps.

My top apps are GarageBand, Fender Play, and Fender Tune. I’ve been using GarageBand on my laptop for over 10 years. Thanks for this list Chris, I’ll have to check some of these out

For Android users I recommend "smartChord" ... to me it is like a Swiss Army knife ... tuner, chords, metronom, transposing, drum machine ... and much more... plus my very favourite - the songbook. Btw ... many thanks for your professionally made videos.

Thanks for the list. I personally use Guitar Pro a lot to learn new stuff. I like to slow down the solo parts and loop it so it gets a little faster each time until I can play it normal speed.

I have an Android phone but bought an iPad on sale at Costco because a Railroad picture book I wanted wasonly available in Apple format. So I'll try that Apple music. I use the Ultimate Tab Pro on computer only because I can't see that on my phone. I use YouTube and the Tony's Acoustic Challenge for some lessons. Tony Polecastro explains what he's doing in sufficient detail to where you don't have to see what he's doing. That's needed if you cannot see.

My 16 yr old son is my goto, because he's been playing guitar for 4 years. And he knows way more than i do. In life, in politics, in apps, and video games, in guitar playing. So! He has a very short temper with my questions. Lol. So thank you very much for this video! I have to hide in the basement and let him think he taught me the guitar hero songs. Love ya man.

iStroboSoft tuner... I love the format. Costs a few bucks to purchase but well worth it in my opinion. It's replaced all of my other tuners (mando, violin, guitar) that I used to keep in cases and I stopped using the other apps I had experimented with. So iStroboSoft is the last one standing for me. Thank you for that Apple Music backing track tip, I had never considered that!!

Perfect timing! And thanks for confirming GarageBand. And yup, YouTube with all its guitar channels and different genre tutors with their free tutorials has made this the Guitar Renaissance Age for us Baby Boomers who’ve finally got the time and bucks, and Gen Z who discovered real music to express themselves during lockdown. Been subscribed to Alamo for couple of years now. Go raibh míl maith agat! Thanks a million!

You forgot to mention that YouTube allows you to slow down a performance video so you can easily learn a difficult passage.
