I suspect the phrase "Cheeky Nandos" is born from the same indulgent idea of popping into the pub for a "swift half" (of beer.).

This couldn't be more British. Having a cheeky Nando's and then going for a few pints of cider! Absolutely wonderful!

Hey Ashley just a little information on the Clifton suspension bridge for you. Construction of The Clifton suspension bridge commenced on the 21 June 1831 and construction was Completed on the 8th of December 1864 one year before President Abraham Lincoln passed the 13th Amendment of the US constitution. It was Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel he bought house nearby to oversee it's construction alas the story he died before it was complete

I'm loving these episodes together with the Travel Beans, you make a great pairing. Maybe I am a bit biased because I am half British myself, but just love that British accent, haha :)
Hope to see 'way more' of the four of you together (badum
By the way, Ashley, my late grandfather used to be a verger, and he also played the organ in the local church. I could watch him for hours!

The 'cheeky' adjective is rooted in how you may describe your best mate when he's being a wind-up merchant. Its a term of endearment which has spread to describing pubs, food etc as 'cheeky' as that's what they are sometimes - an endearing good mate. This pre-dates Nandos in UK - and goes back at least as far as the 80s when you would go for a 'cheeky pint' of beer.

The gorge below the suspension bridge is a mecca for local climbers. It's usually pretty safe, but my son, who lives in Bristol, was involved in a pretty terrible accident there. He wasn't hurt himself, but the bloke he was climbing with encountered a rock fall, the rocks cut his belay ropes and he fell about 150 ft to the floor of the gorge. He survived, but he's paralysed from the waist down now and lost both his legs. He's an ex-soldier and has been remarkably resilient. After a lot of rehabilitation, he's found himself a flat now and drives a specially adapted car. I think the Banksy with the naked man hanging out of the window is the best Banksy ever!

I'm with Ashley. I'd love to be a part of a Street Art Project one day. Philadelphia Mural Arts will sometimes have a community paint day for new murals where you can go and they will give you a color and few squares of a mural to paint. I'm going to get to one of them when I see it posted up someday.

Cheeky is a britsh expression but much used in Bristol. It is not just about Nandos. Most commonly used to say do you want to go for a cheeky beer.No idea of where it came from but its just a fun expression unlike the overuse if super...my pet hate.

I’m lucky enough to live in Bristol, and get to see the suspension bridge every day!

Cheeky Nandos is a very popular British slang term 😄

The bridge was built in 18 something, you've got to love Ashley. The bridge was built in the 19th century if it was 18 something. I've lived here all my life and never had a Nandos, there is one in the middle of my local town but I've never thought of going in there. Maybe I will try it :-)

Hiya. Nice pint of Scrumpy there, Josh, good on ya, but how can you mention complaining about cold food at the end? In vlog after vlog you have food in front of you both going stone cold while you talk about it and film it! You must LOVE cold stuff. Surely, I can't be the only one frustrated by that? Lol. All the best to you.
