Fly tying for beginners, No. 3 simple caddis larva

Показать описание
The third fly in the series is a little more taxing than the first two as we're adding some new skills with this pattern, first is leading the hook with lead tape, then dubbing and finally winding a wire rib. While this pattern is a combination of only 3 types of material and technique it is still a very effective fly and will generally perform just as well if not better than more difficult caddis imitations.

Excellent instruction!!! I like simple flies that, if presented properly, can be productive. Thank you!

I too use this "style" nymph larvae. I tie up many different sz's & color schemes. I use 0.15 non-lead WIRE vs lead tape.
