Samsung Galaxy S8 hands on review

We've got hands on with the new Samsung Galaxy S8 and its larger plus model, and while it might have lost the edge from its name, it's still very much visible in the design. Here is our hands on review.

The amount of S8 leaks we've seen are staggering, both in their volume and accuracy, but they don't tell the whole story about a phone that's certain to be at the top (or very near the summit) of most 'best phone' lists this year.

The Infinity Display is the headline feature of this handset – while it's not all screen, it's as close as can be. Samsung has also been very intelligent in the way it's got around the loss of the front-facing home screen button, managing to make the handset usable without requiring the mechanical key on the front of the Galaxy S8.

That doesn't mean it's a perfect phone though. The lack of significant camera upgrades and the user interface will irk some, but that shouldn't detract from what is a hugely impressive effort from Samsung.

Easily the best looking phone of 2017. What a gorgeous unique design. Only Samsung can pull off a curved display and a near 90% screen to body ratio.

One important question I think a lot of us have is that, how long will the phone last in term of battery under each graphic setting?

Well, I was all for getting the LG G6. Those clever people at Samsung have seduced me with all of that shiny glass and palm loving cold metal. Bravo Samsung Bravo.

I was never personally wowed by the S7, . my S6 edge has been more than enough to see me through. Got the S8 on preorder now though!

I wanted to know if the galaxy s8 and s8 plus has haptic feedback like the iphone 7 on the home button, if it does, does it feel like you are pressing a real button like the iphone 7?

Love Samsung. Their amoled screens are top notch. A company that builds TVs u know their phones screens would be best on the market.

Have you tested the selfie mode e.g. does the screen still flash like on the s7 ?

I don't really like the dedicated Bixby button as I doubt I'll use that feature. I wonder if there will be an option to re-configure its functionality.

I know it's been a year since it's been out but I've never had a new phone I currently have a used 6s edge plus. I really like the design of the 8 and I know the 9 is better but to much for my price range. Can't wait to buy this phone next month or maybe the month after that.
