It wasn't just a joke, it was a morally compelling piece of cinematography and story telling that these writers embraced with their blood, sweat and tears. And that bus ending was classic cyanide and happiness dark humour, truly one of their greatest works of all time

So I hear people talk about why the 50mph man tried running against racecars. Well I think it's all about how ambition can take over and corrupt u due to the later scenes. But to be fair, this episode is a work of art.
