Mine really took off in the third season. I have three plants and they're producing hundreds of berries each right now.
I have the creamy yellow variety.

I use worm castings mixed with compost and fish emulsion for fertilizing and cut grass as a mulch to help retain moisture (my summers are hot).

I also have clover and chives in the same pots. My pots are two feet wide and they're all full. The alpine strawberries take up the most space and outpaced the chives in growth.

Great video, thank you. You’re right, the seed pack in freezer method gives the highest germination, (I do 4 weeks), I estimate 80-90% will germinate in about 10 days; winter sowing outdoors (in my region) is about 30-50%. One inch soil blocking enables many baby plants in small spaces, plus prevents damping off of seedlings. 🍓

Thank you, very informative video. I really like all your content, I've recently discovered your channel and I already love it! Especially because I also have a part-shade balcony. Today I bought a packet of Alpine strawberry seeds. Is it too late to put them in the freezer for 3-4 weeks and then sowing them in pots? What is your advice? Thank you and have a lovely day! 🌷

It would be nice to have strawberry plants producing fruit for such a long time.🙂 Those are cute berries.
What is that other beautiful plant on the table?

I just watched your “10 fruits and vegetables “ video and was fascinated by the alpine strawberries so i ordered some. I am in Zone 6 Canada. I just received my order March 13th. Do you think it’s too late in the season start?

Hi thanks for the video
I read of a variety I think Attila that can trail. I want to fill a large pot with alpines- should I go for a variety like this that will fill in the pot itself or go for the non trailing and just plant multiple plants?

Thanks 🙏

I have one question. In my pack of alpine strawberry seeds says: sowing outdoors Jan-March: put in freezer 2-4 weeks-sprinkle around surface of soil- store in warm place 15-20 degrees. How?! If i sow outdoors in january-march how can i keep them at 15-20 degrees 😂😂😂😂. Anyway. Can i keep them outside? Or inside? (i live in uk temperature will be about 5-10 degrees if lucky) conservatory- lots of light but maybe 5 more degrees than outaide, inside 20+ degress but not a lot of ligh. Thank you!!
