MO FARAH | THE MARATHON | HOW FAST CAN HE RUN?

Показать описание
Mo Farah is one of the greatest track and field athletes in history. To date, he has won more world championship medals than any other British athlete in history.

Since retiring from the track in 2017, Farah has been exclusively focused on the marathon. In this video, I look at a few key characteristics to Farah's running, and I try to make an educated guess on what his future marathon time will be.

Let me know if you agree or disagree! Comment down below.

Thanks for watching and I'll see you all in the next video.

Peace

I think 2:03 flat for Mo is optimistic. He needs to be in peak condition, and course/weather/pacers need to be favorable.

I think not many people know how great your channel is. Keep it up. Looking foward to more videos!

2:04:25 for me. I just don't believe Farah has the raw marathon talent to hang with the Kipchoges of the world. I would love to be wrong though. And he could definitely medal in the Olympic Marathon where the race wouldn't be run for time.

No prediction on my part, it's all crazy fast below 3 hours for me. :)
Great channel, thank you!

I don't see him running sub 2:04 and I actually think he may already have ran his fastest marathon.

Sorry, but both Kip and Mo are old news. With both being around 35 the performance arrow is starting to point down, especially in the Marathon, where they can only compete a few times per year. Had Mo concentrated on the marathon at 25, then we could talk, but within a few seconds, he is at his peak. And Kip's record may last for 10 years or more.
I suspect the first 2 hour marathoner is now about 15 years old, and training somewhere in East Africa.

Mo’s track record is amazing. He won even though everyone knew exactly what he was going to do. But I think to really run fast in a marathon, you have to love the distance. It’s a beast. I’m not sure Mo loves it like Kipchoge does. Plus Mo still runs like a track runner instead of a marathoner.

The best finisher in 5K and 10K. And in Marathon, Mo has yet to prove.
BTW, he is one of my best Athlete.

I disagree. At his age, I don't see him getting any faster. The fine-tuning of techniques has a negligible to zero net effect when compared to the decrease in performance due to age.

I think he will win many marathons in his future but like you said he won't chase any records so I think he'll run somewhere around 2:04;30h. But if he'll face eliud kipchoge on a flat cours I predict him to run something between 2:02:30h and 2:03;00h

Very good video again 👌
Absolutly love your channel

I was spot on with a guess of 2:03. Any faster would be almost inhuman.

2:03 to 2:04 range seems possible under the right conditions - having one of the 2:03/2:04/kipchoge to follow, if they are still together in the final kilometers mo might even be able to beat them

Just about all male elite athletes running careers are over by their early to late thirties.

Mo excelled as a track athlete, but at 36 yrs old, he may have left it too late to achieve greatness.
