As a dual citizen(can/us), it's important to point that they are 2 different cases. In canada, during ww1, women who owned property voted. While in the US, the property requirement was removed. The US is unique in not allowing women to vote, yet they could hold office. Whereas in canada, they could not. We had universal suffrage, and you had women's suffrage. It's quite interesting, honestly.
