A fun fact: Wyoming was the first state to give women the right to vote because they recognized that women helped build the towns of Wyoming so they refused to be part of the United States if women were not granted to right to vote.

The 19th amendment and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race

I'm black, its extremely surprising that black men got the right to vote before women. Goes to show how low loop n the totem pole women were. Let's be frank when referring to a totem pole white men were (and still are) at the the top of the food chain. Let's be clear black people and women both have come a long way but of course there is more than enough room for improvement in many regards. I think Native Americans are owed more attention as well.

Interesting that black men got the right to vote long before women did. The last people to get that right were Native Americans who’ve been here for 12, 000 years long before anyone else came over finally got their right to vote in every state in 1962.
