In legends it was their local materials that gave the different chemical variant of the metal a different color. They were the same metal used by the trade federation using local materials, just a slightly different and more local Geonosian version in the asteroids.

I think the droids are just made from a metal unique to geonosis that has a red colouration. Kind of like the empire’s crimson command.

I never thought the droids on geonosis being camouflaged because I assumed that they were red because most of the raw materials on the planet were also red

it was the materials they were made with. I think the OG clone wars got this right because you could see months after (the battle of Munnilist) the B1s still were the reddish brown color because they must’ve come off the Baktoid Workshop on Geonisis or some other workshop ran by Geonosian Baktoid manufacturing

Now if I thought the color was due in part of the materials used in their construction and not actual paint or camouflage. However painting the droids could also have been unique as to symbolize their division, like how clones painted their armor for rank then later division.

I'm forgetting which Star wars game it was but one simply implied that they just hadn't been painted yet.

Could the CIS and GAR fleet present at the battle of Coruscant in the Expanded Universe defeat or fend off SCP-2399 from the SCP Foundation website?

I dunno, why do war generals strategize before going to battle?

Because TCW 2008 retconned most post Geonosis droids of the early war being camo too. OG clone wars and a lot of tertiary media depicted early war droids as reddish more than tan.

What if Revan had escaped his imprisonment in the Sith Empire and returned to Old Republic space shortly after the ending of Kotor 2 and reported to Admiral Carth about Vitiate's Sith Empire?

How about the weak b-1, becomes a stealth commando droid. Not to be confused with the other commando droid. (And yes I made it up)

Probably it’s because they came straight out of the factory and some of the dust takes a toll on their paint scheme

I thought it was just the pigment of the metal from Geonosis tbh

I think that its not camo, but rather a iron-type metal special to that planet. I have a few theories, one is that Geonosis has a supply of Iron-type metals to make their droids from, rather than transporting resources to the planet. When the battle droids were transported off world, the battle droids armor would change color due to different air moistures and chemicals on other planets. While one would counter argue that this is camouflage, given that B1's can be painted with other camo's such as swamp, forest or winter colors, I would claim that the B1 battle droid was such an expendable droid that putting on camo would have been too time consuming, hence why most clone war battles present B1 droids with no paint application. Even If camo was applied on some units, the number of painted units would be small, especially when thrown at the enemy wave by wave. The fact that all B1 droids on Geonosis were always presented in iron coloring (from both the movies and the shows) means this color shade is a property of the manufacturing metal, and fortunately an effective camouflage.

I'd think that the main reason that the Geonosian droids were painted red was because they were only ever intended to be stationed on Geonosis for its defence, unlike the beige droids which were intended to fight in all theatres of operations: be it tropical, desert, forest, ocean, city or space.

Also, I don't think that the manpower point really counts as all the droids were manufactured on conveyer belts by other machines in fully automated assembly lines.

Just like how painting cars with spray painting airguns doesn't take many people to do on 21st century factory floors; and even if they were painting them by hand they could always just assign somw droids to paint the newly manufactured ones, reducing the need for manpower at any factory on any planet.
