What would cause the murphy bed to be hard to lower and raise?

So it looks like your door panels are twice as thick as shown in the instructions (with trim). Did you make the cabinet box stick out farther, or just set the hardware back a bit so it closes flush?

Can Murphy beds be installed on dry wall?

Good advice, you kindof gloss over the installation however of the struts.
