Why all the h*ate in the comment?..even if you don't agree with his opinion it doesn't necessarily mean there's a need to attack him. Personally I think it's a spot on advice 👌

Have you ever seen a guy with an overdeveloped upper lip?

I would consider my myself a “ lifter” just an older guy trying to stay fit & lean. His advice tidbits are like gold to me on here. Helped me get the flat stomach I always wanted from watching a short that was under a minute long.

But don't stray from doing dips/weighted dips. One of the healthier moves for shoulders

I took it to heart when you said “my son will never do a flat bench” . I aspire in the incline and decline is my ego. It’s where I feel most at home with the chest. Flat bench is more arms and shoulders for me.

Ten years ago in college, following Mike's power building routine was the first routine that actually gave me real results both in strength and aesthetics

Absolutely straight simple facts here. This is why I love this guy

Makes sense to me. I stopped focusing on my lower chest and only focus on the upper. Worked out great. My wife noticed

Totally agree rarely do bench . I use incline at 2 different levels and reg grip few sets reverse grip dumbells few sets only . To me it's way healthier for your joints. Then add some exercises ike Flys, pullovers etc

Franco Colombo has massive upper chest. BTW I'm 77 and my left shoulder is trashed after 63 years of lifting. Damn tendons don't last forever.

Agreed! Incline and decline covers the middle chest as well

I've almost maxed my gym's dumbell for reps on the flat bench (3 sets 10 reps, 75lb dumbells).

Once I hit that goal, I'm going to start working towards slowly increasing the incline. Even if I have to bump down some weight for a few weeks to pull it off.

I wonder how long it will take his son to get to a 405 Incline Bench.

Unless you're a power lifter, incline is all that's needed especially if you also Dips. Incline and dips are also functionally closer to real life. No one ever pushes anything in real life perfectly horizontal like a flat bench anyway.
