First: STOP the video before I reveal the pedal! Can you guess which one it is??
Secondly: My jacket matches the pedal 😎

A great overdrive sound really depends on the amp your using as well.

This is my favorite pedal, I use it everyday. Right in front on my Marshall clean channel in the verge of break up. It sounds amazing, very percussive and transparent. Also love how you can dial the treble back or use it as a treble boost.

The production quality of your videos is so nice

Little trick with the Timmy- turn the treble and bass all the way down, turn up the volume, and the mids really come out. Then tweak the bass and treble to taste

Why did I have a feeling you were going to say the Timmy? 😆

Well folks, Timmy's 3 way clipping switch is (from top to bottom), asymmetrical, symmetrical and symmetrical with a lil' dash of compression tossed in. In case you didn't know. Just sayin'.

I'v had the v1 of this pedal for +10 years. Never liked it and I tried to sell it for 500eur. Last month I got a 5150 valve amp and OMG they like each other so much. I'm keeping it despite of the inflated selling price. I almost think it's worth what people are asking for it nowadays.

I like Timmy, it's a great stacker as well as a single gain stage pedal. My personal faves? I LOVE the Vfe Blues King and the Xotic AC Booster.

Only dirt pedal I've used that does not care what the rest of your rig is. It even makes solid state amps sing beautifully! Timmy is so good you never want to make proclamations such as this so the world finds out about it (more than it already has).

Just bought one (v3) on the strength of various reviews online, including yours of course (pretty hard to really judge a pedal's sound from YouTube videos though). And god damn I'm impressed. It's just great.

Hudson Broadcast or Sidecar, Benson Pre if you prefer a little more mid range, - Germanium is usually the key component.
Currently, very much happy with the CTC Falcon.

I completely agree with you. In an era when a lot of pedal companies survive on mild tweaking expertise but good marketing and graphic design skills Paul's pedal deserves to be regarded as a modern classic.

I've had a Timmy on my board since 2005. Many many others have come and gone in that time!

I think the issue some people have with the Timmy is that even when they DO work out the way the controls work they're scared to turn them enough. There is a LOT of range in the EQ and sweeping them to work with the gain that you have set-up is critical. The Timmy is not a leave everything at 12 o'clock sort of pedal.

Paul is about to release the next version!

WHY would you buy the Timmy, when you can get the Venuram Jan Ray for 2.5 times as much?? It sounds EXACTLY the same, and has a gold and brown box!! You'd have to be crazy not to want it :-/

I love this pedal. It sounds great on its own but I really think it works the best when paired with an overdrive that has some of its own character. I use it with a bear foot fx Uber bee (honey bee with a treble knob essentially). The Uber bee has its own character while the Timmy is fairly transparent. That way I have two different sounding overdrive options, or I can use them together and basically get a higher gain Uber bee sound. That’s just me though!

That's a GREAT lesson ( cut pots ) to learn how to adjust using yours ears over anything else !!!

I was looking for videos on the pastrami when I came across your video. Is that a coincidence? Have you ever made a video on the pastrami? I like it a lot!
