1:10 if you deraile at that, you already ignored all previous signs saying you to stop. It is used as a last failsafe to protect workers when they doing for example repairing tracks.

My grandma's cat had 4 ears like that and for the longest time I thought all cats just had ears on their ears like that and I was really surprised to see so many cats with missing ears until my dumb kid brain finally put two and two together and realize that my grandma's cat was probably the odd one out.

I can actually answer why the black stripes on the chair still had moisture: One of the weird quirks of light is that transmission and absorption are inverse processes. Dark materials are really good at absorbing light, but that also means that conversely, they're better at emitting light as well (read up on black-body radiation if you're interested. Fascinating topic). What happened here is that the black stripes radiated away their heat more quickly than the white stripes, so on the black stripes, there was less heat for the water to absorb and use to evaporate, where on the white stripes enough heat remained for the water to fully evaporate.

0:30 Probably as a weight to keep it from sliding around.

0:28 That looks more like Plaster of Paris, it is used to add ballast weight to the tape dispenser so it will be less likely to slide around when you are using the dispenser. Some dispensers will just have a sheet of metal in the base to be the ballast.

3:31 one of my local thrift shops has a similar feature. They have furniture like beds and couches on the second floor, and the workers have a type of forklift that allows a worker to pull the furniture into it so they can bypass the stairs and the hassles of getting it downstairs. Judging by the staircase on the side of the building, it's likely the original purpose of that garage door.

2:36 that looks like a "Henry's pocket" it's common on mammals like cats and dogs, it's just an extra flap on the ear that helps pick up higher frequencies

1:11 Derails are used to protect industries, some small sidings, etc, and sometimes to separate different railroads from each other when they're physically connected. This one appears to be used in one of the first cases. They're also used by Maintenance Of Way crews to protect themselves when working on tracks. At slow speeds a derailment isn't catastrophic. The low surface area of the wheels produce the effect of your car getting stuck in mud, and quickly slows the train down.

6:13 That's horrifying if you don't know the place, but at the same time, that's a very strategic place to put up webs, I respect it

1:10 Context: These are put in if a car, or small train, have become a runaway, and they need a way to stop it. Derailers, as they’re known, only really work at lower speeds, and aren’t supposed to cause a major derailment, just something to jump the wheels, and get it off the track, so it would stop. These are very common place on railroads.

My sister dumped her Siamese siren on us when she was posted from an army base in Melbourne Australia to one in Queensland Australia (we lived in Sydney). The noisy beast darkened up once he moved in with us. I guess it was this temperature business. Melbourne is slightly cooler than Sydney.

I'm fairly sure that the concrete in the tape dispenser is, as you guessed, to make it heavier, so you can use it with one hand while it's sitting on the desk.

it's indeed a weight to be able to use it one-handed

@6:48
I half expected it to be my mum's house. Mum had VERY large dogs ( Biggest one was about 240lbs at his largest) and she lives in a very rural community with a lot of hunters. Neighbour got himself a moose but waited just a little too long to process it and it got a little ripe. So he gave the whole moose carcass to my mum for her dogs. Those dogs ate like kings! Local vultures noticed the moose buffet and would happily help themselves to the carcass. Dogs did not care about the vultures/crows/whatever else scavenged from them. There was enough moose for everyone.

My mum's back yard was filled with giant dogs, vultures and a bone pile of ominous proportions.
