7 Tips for Buying a new Smart Phone

People always ask for my advice on what phone to buy next, I find myself answering the same questions multiple times so I have come up with 7 things to consider when shopping for your next smartphone, hey it could even work for other gadgets too.

1. Design, that involves things like screen size, is it plastic, is it metal. If a female you might want to think of a device that fits in your bag. Do you need something you can use with one hand, or something for better visibility, so consider the design.

2. Operating system, consider what you currently have versus what you are comfortable with, some apps aren't available on some operating system so consider which one works best for your needs. iOS tends to be a safer bet.

3. Camera, smartphone cameras are becoming better than ever which means you can now ditch your compact camera, think about camera quality and things like low light performance for those nights out.

4. Storage, have a think about the space available for saving your photos and videos, think about having a device that gives you option to expand the memory easily, some phones becomes more expensive the higher you go in size.

5. Battery life is very important, think about smartphones that offer you a decent battery life, most of them should last at least a day to be classed as decent.

6. Finally, think about durability, more manufacturers are now adopting water and dust resistant tech so if you are a builder for example, a phone like the Xperia Z2 is water resistant and the Galaxy S5.

7. Ultimately the price has to be right, whether you decide you are going on pay monthly or pay as you go, think about the cost over 24 months, maybe buying it outright would be cheaper over 24 months.
