Pro tip! If you have a Xbox controller, use a tooth pick or those plastic flossers to clean the lines of the controller. It may not look dirty in those lines but personally I do it every 2 weeks and there is so much dirt.

you should clean the mousepad one way to tell if its dirty is to scratch it if it makes white lines that needs to be clean but you can clean it by filling up a bathtub and puttijg soap in it and laying it flat out in the bath
