The MSM has been telling their audience what Putin has allegedly said or what his alleged intentions and goals are for years without reading or listening to Putin's comments to journalists' questions or reading/listening to his many speeches where he dives into considerable depth. It's important therefore that Carlson, a former MSM voice who still retains a substantial audience conducts this interview because for the many Americans who follow him, this may be their first time listening to what the President of Russia actually says.

Russia no longer respects the Western Media and the decision to accept Carlson's interview is also understandable. To see how valid this view is just look at the outrage and slander of the Western MSM because he was able to start this discussion "of the other side" and consider it as also a statement of where journalism has gone.
