When I first started with task management tools like Todoist, I was tempted to bring in the list into my calendar, with created more overwhelm and chaos in my calendar, therefore I decided to keeping the separate. What I like in your approach is that you use the Todoist labels that you came up with as a guide to build your calendar time blocks. That really allows you to focus on the task type, rather than the task itself. Thanks for the clarity and experience you bring in. I really enjoy this video.

Thanks, Carl. Last week I added a note in todoist for 'when I have time' to revisit your video from last week to see your list of Labels and ... you were sweet enough to show them here in this video so I grabbed a quick screenshot as many of your labels would suit the work that I do as well. I nabbed the Filters while they were on screen as a quick refresher for me. Now it just remains to go into my calendar and todoist to have a good look at how I've got things set up and if I can do some tweaking that will let me fine tune it a bit.

Such great information about corresponding labels and time blocks. Going thru your Times Sector course now and it is very helpful. Thank you.

Hello Carl, in couple of your earlier videos, I remember you mentioned we should not duplicate the tasks in Calendars and Todoist. However, I had problem with that as I had to look at my calendar and Todoist for tasks. Your new setup is very good. Calendar used for time blocking and Todoist for task management. Thanks

10:50 is my favorite part of this video! I needed to hear that.

Imagine if you could see your calendar next to your tasks in Todoist like you can with Sunsama. Just the day view... I love the way Sunsama tracks time... but I love the way To-Doist structures and filters tasks and actually works on all devices more... Time-blindness is real when I'm focusing on a task, and when you have an unpredictable routine that is when you have Todoist open and have to keep another window open (somewhere) to see your calendar if you do a job where you can't have notifications on (or get overwhelmed by them) 😅

Ah, one day we'll have an app that does it all so we don't have to pay for 5 diff apps that do a few things well each, and then hook all of them up with integrations :)

Great ideas Carl. I started using Sunsama last year as a more substantive tool to schedule Todoist tasking. My work is highly unpredictable and subject to constant change due to varied and moving client priorities, so my schedule is constantly having to change. Sunsama works well for me for this. It's an expensive subscription, but for me it's been worth every dime in my personal and professional life. But, the concept is similar to what you are showing us here which should work well for most folks without the need for additional tools.

Hi! From other videos of yours, I figured that you live in South Korea. I live in South Korea too. I moved from the states to Incheon back in 2015 for personal reason and am running a channel. I remember watching your videos on todoist and got a lot of benefits from using it esp earlier this year. Just wanted to say hi.

Thanks, Carl. I think a limited group of labels to correspond to time blocks may be the link between Todoist and a time-blocked calendar that I was missing.

Oh boy - maybe it's me but I thought the whole point of this video was going to be how to sync the 2 lots of Software so it worked like Amplenote! Amplenote just drags Tasks onto your calendar and BOOM! The time allocated to each task automatically blocks out the time in their calendar. I would just be using that - but the only issue is the free version of Amplenote doesn't let you sync with any exterior software so I can't sync with my wife's busy calendar.

Hi carl, i have your book & working through the relevant videos. When in Todoist do you physically write the task in the time blocked section of your calendar. Or is just knowing what label in the calendar refers to the task & you refer to Todoist to see what needs to be done in that time block.

I love your videos! I have a question, and maybe you have a video to help me. My clients schedule 1:1 calls, and I also lead workshops, many of which I have to travel. I use a calendar program to clients and, for that matter, prospects to get on my schedule. I thought I could create time-open time blocks for this, but this would leave a fair amount open. I know I can block my calendar with blocks and set it as Free, but then am I really time-blocking? This is probably easier than I am seeing it right now. Thank you!

Do you use the built in "tasks" in GCal for anything? Is everything an "event" in your GCal? Thanks

Carl, given all the updates Apple Reminders has had, knowing what you know now if you had to start all over would you use Apple Reminders or would you use Todoist or even Things 3. I know you said you wont switch because of all the years you have in there already but Im talking starting fresh, what would you use?

Carl what do you think of things app? Prefer todoist over it or reminders?

Carl, do you have a rule in your schedule not to add tasks that last less than 30 minutes?

My other question is: Do you think it's unnecessary to add shower time at night to the schedule that includes showering, dressing, combing hair?

Does it apply to someone who works in a office on a 9x5 dayly basis?
