I am Japanese. I live in Ishikawa prefecture. I may not be good at English, so please forgive me. On that day, January 1, 2024, the house shook tremendously. When the shaking stopped and I turned on the TV, a tsunami warning had been issued. It reminded me of the huge 9.0 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Japan on March 11, 2011. I don't want you to forget this event. And thank you very much for your support and donations. I will continue to do my best.
ありがとう。

It’s terrifying how easily those homes can collapse like that during an earthquake

If theres an earthquake and you're outside walking or doing something dont walk or stand while the ground is shaking just go to the safeplace like an open area and sit tight on the ground

Wow, this must've happened very close to the epicenter. It's crazy how violent the shaking was.

Watching the earthquake scene unfold is truly chilling; the trembling of buildings followed by their collapse paints a grim picture of nature's power.

The fact that the earthquake hit in Japan on new year’s day is insane.

Man I feel for our Japanese friends. We in the USA are lucky with earthquakes mostly but they have been just getting hammered. I feel so bad for those who likely saw their home just crumble in front of them. I hope they found safety and have help getting through it all.

one question with all the respect and humanity.. why people insist on building houses that are not capable of holding its ground during an earthquake, in a place where earthquakes happen since ALWAYS ?? Japan is not a poor country, i mean cmon, those houses look very weak for a place with a loooong earthquake history, am i wrong?

I live in Yamanashi, which is a great distance from Ishikawa, and this was the first time I've ever felt an earthquake. I was on my PC and my phone started warning me about an earthquake. I just stopped and watched as everything around me started moving a little bit.

The scariest part is that people here even felt this earthquake because it was so powerful that not even the massive mountains that surround the entire prefecture on all sides could contain it.
