As a family of 6 we buy in bulk, drive older used vehicles, grow a large garden and live comfortably on one very modest income debt free. It can be done with hard work and sacrifice ❤

One of the best things I have ever done was to cancel my gym membership a few years ago. For the cost of a years membership, I bought a treadmill, an exercise bike, a yoga mat, and some dumbbells. I now exercise for free every day and don't have to go out in this cold, snowy weather! Also, no gas cost for the car to drive to the gym.

Before I go to sleep each night I think of at least one thing that went well that day, one thing I'm grateful for and one thing I myself did well. 😊

A habit that saves our family is that we use a lot less if everything; about 1/4 of laundry soap, dish detergent, use bar soaps, short showers with just a small amount of shampoo, tiny pea size of toothpaste, no paper products (or a lot less than average). I counted how much we save on these micro habits (that are amazing for the environment, too!). About $50 - $100 / month. Addition &$50- $100 on utilities (use clothes, towels sheets for many days before they need washing) careful water, heating and electricity usage.

Where the real savings happens is in not wasting food - we use everything! I buy everything from sales, clearance, liquidation sales etc. With all this we manage for about $150 - $200/ month for fam of three and a dog. Takes about 30-60 min / week to plan. And saving about $500 / month. These habits are so ingrained, I don't even think about them any more. Power of habits 💪

I always have a $200 buffer in my checking, just in case. I also have a rule of not using any card payment (including debit) for things that don't last. For example, things like food, gas, shampoo, etc are all bought with physical cash. It definitely makes me more aware of how much I'm buying.

I cook at home! I may eat out once a month, and then may order just an appetizer to save money. I also just order water when dining out.

Great tips. I have automated all of my bills and my savings, budget, meal plan, and shop monthly (I only get paid once a month). I also learned to make no-knead bread. I use cash for groceries/household and personal spending. When the money is gone- I am done spending for the month. After a while of being consistent, I eat better, waste less, spend less, and now have extra money at the end of the month that I can put toward other things.

All of my bills are on auto pay so I never have to worry about them being late. Always keep a $3, 000 cushion in my checking account. I hang most of my laundry to dry near my heater vents or outside in warm weather, instead of using the clothes dryer. Except sheets and towels.

I know my age which is 64 and I eat the amount of meat and bread and sweets etc that I'm
suppose to based on my health as well and because I'm a forever cancer patient I talked to my doctor. Believe me it's frugal and safe. 🎉

I make budget friendly meals in crockpot and freeze them in freezer bags as well as cook my daily meals...save what i can freeze or turn them.into soups, stews, bowls. Its easy and cheaper to stay home when you need a quick meal and you didnt waste $ eating.out.

Great video Jennifer. I save by 1. Making high quality coffee at home 2. Having a progress tracker for whatever goal I am working on 3. Knowing how much money I have in my purse at all times 4. Plugging appliances into power strips and flipping switching off when not in use to stop phantom energy 5. Having a DYI stuffed item at the bottom of outside doors to keep the cold out. 6. Making sure I know my banking polices on fees so not to get any extra charges. 7. Making not only every dollar matter but every cent matter. I made over $300 one year by not buying things under a dollar. Mostly it was the dollars stores but this last year they have went up or things on the clearance rack.

I look for price reduction items. My fave is getting meat or fish 40% off (I freeze it). I once got a small bag of detergent that was marked down, and a membership coupon on their app added additional price cut.

The NUMBER ONE way to save money is NOT to have credit cards!! We haven’t had them in YEARS and save on those awful yearly fees and the constant temptation to buy something on time. The need for ‘good credit’ is based on a debt driven society that has b come the biggest lie. There is always a way to get a newer/new car or buy a house without a high credit score. We bought our house with a year’s rent to own option that proved to the owner that we could carry the mortgage cost. I am a firm believer in what the Bible teaches and it tells us to owe to no man. I understand there are times when we must, like with unexpected medical costs and such, but my beef is specifically with the whole credit card industry.

I don't drink sodas. I drinks lots of water. Make my own coffee at home and take a cup to work. I take my lunch and snack to work. I don't stop at fast food places for breakfast. I eat my own food. I cook my own meals. I eat leftovers or freeze them for lunches for work. I don't use paper towels. I do use paper napkin occasionally but mainly cloth napkins. I shop at thift stores. I use a bidet. I cleans you better than toilet paper.

I do not buy paper towels, instead I buy cotton dishtowels to dry my hands after washing or to clean up around the kitchen. Saves so much money and better for the environment. My bills such as electric and car insurance are on auto draft, no need to worry about late fees; always paid on time!!
