FINALLY! Anytone Bluetooth REMOTE for Anytone DMR Ham Radios

preview_player
Показать описание
Ever since the first Anytone Mobile DMR Radio was released with the Bluetooth option, but no removeable screen, we've been wanting a solution to mount this radio remotely in vehicles. FINALLY Anytone has released a Bluetooth Remote for all of their mobile radios, ones with and without Bluetooth, but it is different than what we expected. Is it worth it?

The Bluetooth range on this device is SUPERB. I have my 578 sitting in my basement and I have been able to initiate QSOs from all over my house including upstairs. Highly recommend!

The biggest fail about the 578 is it doesn't have a remote head on it, so I can't mount it in my vehicle...these new cars don't have squat for space in them...but this may encourage me to install my 578 in my car since it's got the remote screen on it. Pretty nifty! You just mentioned it in the video as I was typing this!

Super cool in the nerdiest of ways! ANYTONE is emerging as a world leader in high tech radios!!! I of course already own the 578 mobile and the 878 handheld, I LOVE them both. This will be my next Anytone purchase! Thanks for the heads up.

I just ordered my 578 and have been agonizing over where to mount it in my new RAM 1500. This solves that issue very nicely. I’ll be ordering it right away.

I just bought the radio at HamVention. But I wanted to learn more about the remote. Now, I’m gonna order the remote. Thanks Jason. Great seeing you at the show…as always!

I got mine the other day. It's actually a lot better than I thought it would be. I just wish it had a little more BT reach so I could sit in my living room and operate my radio in the next room over. The lathe and plaster walls just obliterate the BT signal. Being able to charge it via the cat cable from the radio is a nice touch.

This thing is DOPE. Kinda wish I'd skipped the 878uvii+ and just waited and bought 2 578's (1 for home, 1 for mobile) and this thing. Great videos. Thanks for pushing out this content. As a newly licensed ham, Ham Radio 2.0, HRCC, and a handful of others have been an invaluable resource to me figuring this all out. Anyway, great work. 73

I bought the BT01. I have not updated the radio or connected it yet. I like the fact that the display is larger than the one on the radio. I like the full control of the radio. Looking forward to setting it up. (May wait for warmer weather) I will let you know.

Ordered one from HRO this evening (in stock--12-17-2022). BTW, reviewing the set-up manual you can power up/down the radio from the BT-01.

Awesome video. I was looking at the 578UV III for the DMR and the 220 (which are both pretty popular in my area) as an upgrade to my Baofeng tri-band HT that I'm currently using. Then I saw a link in a Google search for the BT-01, which led me to this video, which 100% solidified my plans to purchase the radio. Except I made the upgrade to the 578UV III Pro for the built-in bluetooth.

Bottom line for me is, I love working the repeaters in the area, but being chained to my desk all day long if I want to have a QSO with a friend or scan for traffic is just not really an option. So when I'm walking around the house with an HT, but even with an upgraded Diamond antenna on the HT, it's still not 100% that I'm going to hear the repeaters I want to hear, and even less of a chance they're going to hear me. But being able to bluetooth into a radio in my office/ham shack that's connected to my tri-band antenna on the roof? Are you kidding me? That's game changing!

The only thing that bothers me about this is 1) How the hell are we just now getting features like this? and 2) Why the hell aren't the major brands (Yaesu, Kenwood, Icom, etc.) innovating like this? Why are we just getting the same crap from 1965 with better LCD screens and more complicated menus? (Looking at you, Yaesu...)

Anywho. Enough of my ranting. Thanks for the awesome content. The 578UV III Pro arrives in the mail tomorrow and the BT-01 will be arriving sometime in the near future. Oh side-note, have you done any testing on the range of the hand unit to the radio? I have a couple of pairs of bluetooth headphones that I connect to my computer and they seem to work from anywhere on the 1st floor of my house so I'm hoping for similar results with this setup.

Ok enough rambling from me lol. 73! DE W3TOJ

Thanks for the review!
I'm not one to run and buy the latest greatest coolest gadget off the bat until I hear from several operators. I am leaning toward getting one at some point. 73, KC4JGC.

Wow! I'm definitely getting one of these. I run the AT 578 and mounted it on my dash because where I originally mounted it down the passenger side foot area, I could not see the screen very well. This is going to be great!

The jury is still out on this remote solution. Currently I don't need to remote the 578 but a remote head would have been preferable. Like the CS800D, Wouxun KG1000, and FT-891A.

Yes you can change the Bluetooth name of this device. I have 2 of them. Took about 1 hour per radio to update, the firmware, base band, APRS\Bluetooth, reload the codeplug and upload the latest copy of the digital contacts.
