It happened to me 2 years ago. Very stressful time. Downloaded a stupid mod for a game. I didn't realize it until 2 days after vacation. I noticed when my youtube history was a bunch of random videos. I was extortioned as well. Thankfully, I got the majority of my passwords written down, and im a bit more organized now. Scary stuff.

About replacing cards, many banks these days allow you to create virtual credit cards. Use these for online purchases, because the hassle of replacing a virtual card is a lot less than replacing a physical card.

But how do I even know I got an info stealer? It might be completely silent and I'll be completely oblivious of it's presence...

Prevention is better than cure. A vid showing how to check hash sum, run a sandbox etc would be great

It happened to me around 15-20 years ago. Obviously, the type of virus was not designated as an info-stealer back then. I basically had a brain fart and accidentally plugged my USB stick into a potentially infected PC (which I quickly came to know was infected). When I came home, I didn't even think about it and plugged it into my PC. Thankfully, I didn't have internet at that specific time. I can't remember why though. Anyhow, I painstakingly manually removed the virus and its components. Thankfully, I was able to do so. That was the last time I've ever had a virus on my PC/laptop. Afterwards, I've become paranoid about my PC/laptop security, which is probably why I've never had another virus infection after that.

This is very informational, but that the hackers don't realize they have your information is wrong. The information is usually automatically sold through bots and automatically scanned with checking programs that will list it with a whole range of information about your account. The only time that you really have is the time between execution and sale.

My biggest suggestion is to just not do banking on PCs. Android/iOS are way less susceptible to infostealers than Windows. I guess it could depend on your bank site/situation but personally I have not yet had a good reason to do banking on my PC.

If you haven't already, could you make a video like an ultimate guide to staying secure on the internet? I'm using a password manager and all that jazz, but maybe some tips and tricks for making a foolproof safe experience when browsing the internet or shopping online.

Whatever you do, DON'T go to the maintenance shed other end of the compound to get the power back on in 10 minutes. It'll never work.

5:37 Yet another MS weird way of doing things...

How and why does it take up to 24 hours for them to sign out an account everywhere while others manage to do it instantly? 🙄

It actually happened to me last year, the worst experience ever, i panicked for an hour then got calm and knew what to do to fix the damage, I remember the people in your discord server helping me remove the malware and helped me use a password manager. In the end I was kinda scared for a month, i got back all of my accounts except for my Microsoft Account, sadly Microsoft's interaction with people who have compromised accounts is bad. couldn't get back my account oh well.

5:30 2 questions, 1, can I just run a Windows or Linux VM, and log out there. (Host machine being the infected device) 2, Can I log out from my dual boot of Linux? (Windows being the infected OS, but restart the PC, and log in through Linux with btrfs drivers) (I know it would probably be better to log out from a different device, but can I do it this way)

I will share this to our govt. which is right now crippled whole week by ransomware attack on our land registry system. You cannot get tittle deed so you cannot get mortgage, sell or change ownership of property, real estate market frozen, etc...

I wonder if this procedure is also workable for Apple computers.

my only tip is: do not save anything on your browser including history, cookies, cache, everything else important

- it will be annoying at first as you'll be repeatedly signing in over an over
- BUT any malicious software executed can't get it as easily now either

-not having browser history can be annoying but attackers cant have it now either
