I don't know why so many people seem to believe that a degree is needed to become a programmer. I'd rather say you need one to prove that you can get your shit together over a long period 😂
Most developers I knew don't have a university degree. But, at least in Germany a "Ausbildung", which is a 3 year practical oriented education.

So I'm a business and economics major that is about to graduate in one and a half year but I've been currently experiencing disinterest in my field. I used to code in my teenage years so I picked up again on a whim and I love the thrill of creating something that you experience when programming. I'm looking to make a career change but i don't think I can afford to go to university again for a comp sc degree should I just give up on becoming and SWE.
