Hurrem started it, Kösem made it. That was the difference. Hurrem went through hardship with Suleyman on her side, while Kösem had to go through hardship alone. Kösem made herself powerful and never bowed to anyone, that’s why she is my favourite.

what i couldnt understand was that after Hurrem died, it was a fight for her ring. That the ring was believed to be a symbol of power when it really was a symbol of love. Hurrem's ring had nothing to do with the power she achieved.

What i felt is Kosem was the most powerful one... she was the regent for long time... Hurrem always had Sulthan Sulaiman to back support her, and she died before becoming valide sulthanam... But on the other hand kosem she became more strong after Sulthan Ahmed's death. Safiya Sulthanam was also one among the powerful i guess... Dont know much about Nurbanu and Turhan...
