Rich you must be psychic! I just ran my first job on my new Lasermatic 10 and it stopped mid job. It was the word "test" in the center of a 4 inch round cork coaster with plenty of room(3/4 inch either side) so I must have some kind of USB or other COM glitch. As always you are the go to guy.

On my old Ortur I had the problem of sudden stops mid-project, not only at the edge, the solution was to ground the frame. Thanks for your very informative videos.

I had an issue with my laser stopping in the middle of the job. Went through all settings, double checked everthing setting were ok. Then thought just out of the blue, I would changed the usb cable. And well there was the problem. A simple cheap fix. Which I was happy about😃

Haven’t had this problem yet. I always try to put my work in the middle of the work bed but it’s good information to have should I have multiple jobs on the work bed.

I'm new to lasers. My wife and I just got our Roly 20w setup. My laser stops in the middle of project even if I setup the job in the center of the work space. Any ideas? I have a 25 foot usb cable as the laser is a little ways away from the computer, could this be it? Everything is new i.e. computer cable and laser. Rich - this appears to be the problem with my wife's system. It alarms and shuts down. She's using LB 1.6 and we can't find the offset adjustment selection area. Was it moved elsewhere in Lightburn? If so, please let me know. Thx

House ground faults are apparently a big thing too? 🤔
Im having trouble with devices that turn on in my house interfering with print's, even my air assist will interfere, my office devices are all earthed and show zero ohm except for the laser cutter and 3d printer.
It's got to be my house wiring? 🤔

Hi Rich!! I haven't been able to get much done as far as my hobbies go because "Life" happens so to speak..But I have this hair brain idea of starting up "Diamond Painting" and I thought; why not burn a diamond painting GRAPH on smooth sanded wood piece and then spray adhesive on that piece of wood that I burned the graph on so the Diamond dots "drills" will adhere. I was able to download a graph specifically for Diamond painting and imported that to my laser burn program, I then previewed the moves and it would take approx. 38min. Apart from the 38 min. Would my laser be able to burn something like that? My apologies for being off subject of this video you uploaded but I was hoping to reach you through your most recent post. THANK YOU

Very helpful video! I had another issue that I came across.. I ran a job on my laser and by the time it was done, my monitor had gone to sleep.. So, I opened my enclosure to check the engrave and clicked on the mouse to wake the monitor.. The laser started the job again! Besides potentially ruining the engrave, it could have ruined my vision! After it happened a 2nd time, I found in the lightburn settings "ignore start button when monitor is asleep", but it was off! Lightburn should set this to on by default.. Have you ever come across this?

I’d just move the job to 10mm from the edge and adjust the wood to position where I want it to start. I never use the edge of the workspace anyway.

What I’d like to see is how to continue a job if the power goes out. I had one the other day where power went out and stopped the job. My laptop had power but the laser did not. I also can’t afford the big UPS that you suggested in a previous video. While great and all, it seemed a bit overkill and def too expensive. I tried to continue the job from the preview but I couldn’t figure out how far it had gotten.
