Symbols are extremely important function for solving equations. Differentiation, Integration can be performed in MATLAB using symbols(ahh the beauty of MATLAB). MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER WHILE FORMING AN ARRAY IN MATLAB IS THAT THE INDEXING STARTS FROM "1" AND NOT "0" LIKE OTHER PRORAMMING LANGUAGES.

This video tells us how to perform complicated calculations in MATLAB. #sym() command used to describe symbolic objects.We can use #sym ans #syms both commands.#Symfun() command is also used. #Subs() command substitutes values in the symbolic varaiables.Differentiation of a function can be done by using #diff() command.We can also perform partial differentiation using this command.We can perform indefinite integration using the command #int().

Good explanation in tutorial. symfun() was new. Could've also include #solve() function and secondly #subs() function to substitute numerical value of variable in function and get the function value for that variable value.
