So you don't... open the controller to clean the contacts thoroughly? Sure the good old brushing with toothbrush might immediately make it look better, but clearly some of the corrosion went below the plastic.

Wavebirds and GC controllers in general are some of the quickest and easiest controllers to disassemble (I should know, I like to repair and mod controllers as hobby), this method might be a decent temporary solution, but it is inexcusable to not take the extra effort into fully cleaning the corrosion from the inside out when you guys are selling these products for exorbitant amounts of money.

For the amount they charge I could buy 4 at regular price and have backup.

You need to open the controller to remove the corrosion. That method just cleans the external contacts, probably more on the inside.

No offense, I don’t have a problem with you guys or your pricing. However, I think that opening the controller and cleaning everything you can, or showcasing the discretion used in the refurbishment of your consoles would reiterate to your customers your standard of quality is above every one in the retro video game market.

My first console was a game cube, dad bought the wave birds for us. That was a Christmas I’ll never forget. I really regret chewing the main stick’s rubber off, still have it and works great!
