I've heard so much good about this knot but it has not been a go-to of mine. This is for no other reason than the fact that the guys that I first learned fishing from, didn't use the knot. So, I was very interested in seeing how it was tied. It is supposed to be one of the best and most versatile knots for fishing. Seeing the structure of the knot, it is actually an elegant but simple knot. It cinches nicely and has some nice symmetry to it. I'm a bit of a knot geek from my rock climbing days ha ha. Anyway, awesome knot and great video!

Can you join braided to swivel and then mono?

You should Never cross your lines over through the eye. They will cut into each other. That is a no no.

Does the fact that the line crosses itself in the double through method matter? I'm relatively new to fishing and was told that in knots, when the line crosses, it can cut itself under a good amount of load. This is the only reason I'm debating a single through or double. Asking specifically for braid, although I'd be interested in hearing a response for mono and fluoro.

This video should have ended at 4 minutes 45 seconds. You said it yourself, you always use the double wrap 100% of the time. I have seen single wrap braid with the uni knot slip even with 7 to 9 turns.

So please edit the video short, and stick with the double wrap Uni Knot. Happy fishing all.
