Satoshi Kon was an incredibly talented filmmaker gone too soon. When I saw this film for the first time, it completely changed my view on film and on the ability of anime as a medium.

Little known fact: 0:44 when Paprika appears in a dress, she's dressed like the woman in the picture by the monitor which was actually based on a picture of Satoshi Kon's wife standing in front of a sunflower field.

When Satoshi Kon handed the storyboard to his animators, I wonder if they were like "how the hell?"

It will always remain a tragedy to me that the director Satoshi Kon died so early in his life. The movies he could have made... so sad.

Many people don’t talk about how interesting the concept of paprika is. Not the movie, but the character herself. She just looks like any average girl that you’d see walking down the streets of Japan, but yet, she is this… supernatural charismatic dream-lady enigma?

Satoshi and Susumu really did just… fit together perfectly. Both Susumu’s sci-fi like traditional music and Satoshi’s otherworldly animation are a perfect blend.
