You can't shame people who have no shame.

I’m glad she didn’t say “we’re not being supported by the police” glad she said mayor and DA it all starts from the top!

Finally, no longer bluring or protecting these aholes.

Accountability is what CA took away now its up to the people to treat these people like adults.

Imagine doing this in a Walmart, the building would be covered with posters inside and out. XD

Years ago there was a business in my area that posted the names and phone numbers of people who wrote bad checks. If you came back and made it right they would take your name down. If you didn't your name was left on the reader board and twice a year he published the name and addresses of the people who wrote bad checks to the business. One guy tried to sue and the judge said that telling the truth doesn't count as defamation. The plan worked quite well. The people who wrote the checks usually came in to settle the issue within a couple of days from the time their name was posted. Several people throughout the community complained that they lost their job or were passed over for better employment because of the reader board. His comment was "If you don't want your name to be shamed publicly don't write me a bad check."

Knowing it's California, the DA will probably go after the store owner for shaming the shoplifters or some BS, but will never go after the shoplifters.

I love that this proves it is even older people who need to be humbled and exposed for who they are.
I watched an elderly woman train her little grandson how to hide merchandise. She actually fussed at him for not doing it right!
She didn’t care that I was watching.

That’s like a badge of honor to them.

“Did you see my pic, they got me looking good snatching that Louis!!!”

Back in the old days, news announcers at radio stations in small towns would actually say the names of the accused shoplifters on their broadcasts. Shame is a very powerful deterrent.

I’m an accountant. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing small businesses grow throughout my career. The fact that thieves do this to people makes me sick.

YEEESSS!! Bravo for shop owners using common sense and shaming these individuals *instead of just accepting the theft as inevitable.*

"You feel like businesses are struggling!?!"is a god damn UNDERSTATEMENT! Businesses are closing down.

They come back to return the stolen stuff, in order for their mugshot to be taken down, not out of change of heart..but this method proves very effective!

This is done in Philadelphia at Dollar stores. It's the Entrance "Door of Shame." Before you enter the store, the photos of shoplifters are on the front door.

Public shaming was the original form of punishment in the U.S. And in small towns everyone knows who is a criminal but these days in big cities criminals can be anonymous.
