Welcome to ‘Album Report Cards’ with Dr. J 👋 I have a PHD in nothing, and I’ll be your host for this new 60 seconds or less review show.

Top Tracks: Beautiful Morning, Mattel, Cosmic

Worst: We Love You, ‘GOD’ trilogy

I personally loved the G(O)(D) trilogy and appreciate that A7X is leaning more and more into the experimental territory. I hope more bands (especially ones later into their career) follow a similar trajectory because it'll otherwise feel like wasted potential creatively speaking.

I’m gonna respectfully disagree. 😅 To me, it’s a contender for my fav album of the year and it showed great evolution and chaos in a way that made sense (at least to my weird taste lol) 🔥🔥

Heard it last night at 3am and had such an experience with a range of emotions lol. First couple listens I really enjoy how weird it is and think I'll get more out of it than The Stage

this album is a GROWER in every way imaginable. took me like 6 or 7 listens to fall in love with it as much as i am now

I love this album, from start to finish. I hope that the following album/songs/EPs will be even more all over the place! Here they included, in a very cohesive way, a lot of difference influences while still delivering songs with a not too much unconventional. I hope that in the future they will go fully prog or avant-garde!

If music is a journey then this album is one of the best journeys I've ever experienced
I don't think drugs were involved in this, rather people behind the album got very mature and sophisticated and tried to, sort of, show off a bit(or not a bit), and they certainly did, in one of the best ways possible

This album can basically be summarised as, “Drugs Were Involved.”

That’s not a joke. There were Psychedelics involved in the making of the album and it certainly shows lol.

This was an amazing album. For those going into this thinking they are gonna get the older experience, should understand what they have created, is what I consider to be an orchestral masterpiece in terms of finally pursuing this form of music with styles ranging for the 40-70s.

In my opinion this album is one of their best, maybe even their best. It's such a journey of a listen and is so unique. Cosmic, we love you and Mattel are in my top 10 avenged songs now.

Sorry Jon, but i can't agree with you in this one. This album is much better than you say. Then again, this is just my opinion, but i think you should listening this a few times again until you enjoy it.

As a music listener with severe adhd this album hit the nail perfectly. I already loved every genre they displayed, and to have it all in one neat package is great

C is fair (about how I felt). Sensory overload is also a fair description with the chaos.

In terms of listening to the album front to back this is my favorite album by them(as of now). I enjoy how experimental it is.

This album changed my life so I disagree I give it a solid A
The mumbo jumbo of it all and overload is so empowering and how it shifts from Crazy to calm to anger to sadness is just very amazing

Especially Mattel don’t get me started that one was the life changer. Anger, Sadness, Life Repeating itself. Perfect song

I personally love this album. I like the evolution of A7X flowing over into progressive metal territory since 2016's release of 'the stage'. They took this evolution way further here in LIBAD. I love the experimentation with different synthesizers, vocoders and even auto-tune to create transcending effects like on "cosmic" which is my favorite song on the album.

The whole thing is an existential crisis. It’s meant to make you confused and to make you think. That’s the whole purpose. The songs are all very philosophical and emotional. The sensory overload is intended, especially in we love you. Personally my favorite album of all time.

I pre-ordered the album on vinyl. Will give it a first listen later tonight. I've heard mixed reviews but mostly positive overall

I think it’s actually the best album made in the last 20 years. I was blown away. It’s not “consumable pop” but for someone like me who listens to both classical, Prog rock, and thrash metal… just wow.

I think it’s the definitely the kind of album that gets a lot better on repeat listens

Also, Cosmic and Mattel are some of their all-time best songs
