Everyone relax, high school is much harder than college! HS is like a full time job everyday, with 6-8 classes and then 4 hours of homework (busy work). But college is not like that. I did poorly in HS and couldn't afford 4 years and started at community college and ended up keeping a 3.91 in physics at a top 10 college after transferring (got 2 free years before thank god). Y'all can do it! Good luck and I hope you find the path that works for you.

My high school’s max GPA, even with AP, was 4.0.

Made things very easy for me.

My school uses a system where ninety-nine is a 3.9, so I'm screwed

That last part resonates with my experience in Spanish Lang, averaging a B in that class year-round. 😢

as someone who’s gpa wasn’t the best after junior year since they struggled to put in effort into a lot of their assignments (something im kicking myself for and trying to fix my senior year but what can you do), i almost failed ap bio both semesters with a D both times. the thing is, i’m applying to major in **biology** and have been accepted into every college i’ve heard back from (only two colleges remaining), despite submitting my transcript showing the almost failed classes.
obviously don’t fail all your classes, but if you have not the best grades, that’s okay cause stuff like writing essays helps a lot if you put a lot of effort into them (also maybe act/say scores? all my colleges were test optional but i did really well so i submitted mine so if you have a good score i advise submitting it cause it can only help you)

My school only gave weighted 😂 I had to calculate unweighted myself for some scholarships

Basically, competitive schools look for terminal coursework for your school and how well you did in them

I’ve already graduated from college don’t know why I’m here 😂 but I was a horrible high school student and became an honors student in college, got I think 2 bs the entire time I was there mostly early. How I preformed in high school didn’t matter at all in the long run, so don’t stress out and just get ready to try your best in your next chapter! Unless your pre-med… in that case I hope you were getting straight As and volunteering experience in kindergarten 😂

College ain't this serious kids. As long as you're above a 3.0 you'll land scholarships and acceptances at most schools

let us know the correct way because i know my PE and AP Spanish teachers are scamming my class and i hard haha

For the GPA they should drop the 25% lowest grade classes. Shit happens or maybe some classes are just not it for some people, this would take that into account.

We don’t need everyone going to college

Some majors do need extra training like doctor, nurse, lawyer, accountant or engineer but if you are going to college for a fine arts degree, forget about it — not worth the money, tbh

Fine arts 🎭 is more of a practical skill set that you can practice by yourself; you don’t need a teacher; they are just there to teach theory, not teach you how to actually draw 😅

My school does both and is staying they’re going to mandate reporting unweighted…. Nah, I took all these AP classes for a reason I am definitely submitting weighted

Imagine having one or two classes with bad grades... more like one year or so of bad grades.

I don’t think you know what a weighted gpa is.
