Best Canvas Size for Big Posters in Procreate

The size I use in Procreate to make a A0 size poster is 5,000 pixels by 7,100 pixels. This is the biggest canvas you can create in Procreate, using 11 layers.

I understand all this already so I personally am not confused by your video, but others might be. The question asked was why do you set yours to be 72dpi, and by the end you explained why you would choose 150dpi. You didn’t actually address why your canvas at the beginning of the video was 72dpi.

Thank you. I can now export my Adobe at vectors as psd in Procreate at 150 and have layers to work with. I guess 300DPI isn’t always the case. I’m so glad I watched ur video.

Thank you so much!! I was struggling with getting the correct canvas size and was having issues with the sizing when I uploaded the file to a poster template (size 24x36") for printing. I had the incorrect size and when I uploaded it to the poster template, the file would not fill up the whole 24x36" and left a 2" gap at the top and bottom. After watching your video I was quickly able to adjust my canvas size and upload it to the poster template without the pesky blank gaps at the top and bottom of the poster. Thank you so much for helping!

Great video. Please if am making a full colored illustration painting with a lot of details can I still use 150 dpi? For example a portrait painting. Thanks so much.

Am I the only one who thought the question was not answered? It wasn't about how to set up size/resolution on Procreate but why 72dpi was able to print good quality when we're always told to use 300dpi and above is good for prints. Every seems content with the response though.

i have the slightly smaller model ipad than yours. if i was to set my canvas to (as your example) 841 x 1189 mm i'd get less dpi. would say 72 dpi make a good poster at that size still, or does the dpi really matter? still tricky to comprehend this!

Hey Stayf
I want to print my procreate artwork in large size 24" 36" or more. The this dimension is not possible with 300dpi. I am confused how to set 300dpi as always said 300dpi is standard for printing. Please tell me the dpi I can use in my artwork for high quality printing and without pixelation. Thank you

You mentioned you transfer your art work to Photoshop, for a pdf. Is there a app on the ipad pro that can do the exact same, as i only have a iPad pro.

Incredible explanation! 😀 I still have so much to learn as newbie Procreate artist. It’s both exhausting but exciting at the same time! Thank you for this! 🧡
