Best documentary I've ever seen. People who sent/send hate mail to Sir David Attenborough should be ashamed. He spent 60+ years dedicated to great work, science, nature and educating.

Same with Charles Darwin, it took a lot of self-sacrifice to gather his findings and publish his theory (evidence too) in a world where he knew he would surely be (and was) looked down upon and criticised.

Peoples believing outdated ideas are irrational and unable to reason. They shouldn't be criticising others.

This is so humbling. To know we share this heritage with the world, and especially other animals. It's a strange and wonderful past. I'm glad to be a part of it.

Creationists watch this with their eyes closed and ears covered.

I saw a video in which Craig Venter (for those unfamiliar with the name I'd suggest wikipedia) announced that his team has found that some 1/3 of our DNA is basically leftover bacteria/virus code which is redundant. 2/3 digestion in our system is actually performed by microorganisms. I personally find it fascinating and hold great faith that science will continue to improve our lives (faster than politicians can destoy it(sarcasm)).

BEAUTIFUL video!
I was not allowed to learn about evolution in school, and had to learn on my own. This is just gorgeous, and I'm sending it to my grandchildren!

What an awe inspiring video. Our knowledge of our world surrounding us has grown exponentially in just a century. Hopefully our lust for hate and destruction doesn't wipe it all out (again).

An absolutely beautiful illustration of a simple and beautiful explanation.

I love this one. Hope it can explain some overall image to people who are not given opportunity to learn about the history of life.

Very proud to be British upon watching this. Sir David Attenborough is one of my true heroes! A shame our kids don't idolise scientists but instead prefer borderline-rapist footballers.

3:35 Tik-tik-tik-tiktaalik!

Kudos to the animators, and especially to Sir David Attenborough for 5 decades of amazing documentaries sharing how beautiful reality really can be.

You'd have to say, some of the finest television ever produced. The cinematography is equisite.

We almost can't tell, but the great tree continues to grow even today, though some of its branches are currently on the verge of severing themselves from the trunk

Magnificent. Just try to imagine timescales in the billions of years. Condensing life's history to 6 minutes is enthralling to watch. But some may not appreciate or can imagine the length of time required for life to evolve to today's complex forms.

This is a fascinating video, not just for being informative, but for having a lot of great visual effects that really analyze our roots and the origins of life.

Wonderful summary and visuals. Makes me really happy to think that we are all related and we need to realize how important that is. There's no better narrator then David, can't wait to see this fully. Cheers!
