This gives me goosebumps every single time. I'm not trying to be a snob or anything, but I really can't see how someone can be bored by this sequence. It's so beautiful, and the music is on point.

Sitting in the cinema, this sequence hit my mind and soul like a high speed train

I think this is one of the most spectacular scenes in cinematic history. I have never been so moved. This is the closest I will ever come to knowing what the universe looks like.

The nerd inside of me loved the nebulae and galaxies, the soul inside of me began to hope that this is what eternity is like.

WOW!

"The Tree of Life" is arguably the most hypnotic film ever made. Even if you didn't like the film, once it begins, you simply can't take your eyes off it. So glad I saw it on the big screen (especially this scene).

I watched this film on a night-flight returning to London from Tokyo. I can honestly say that this scene affected me more viscerally than any that are clear in my memory – I had uncontrollable tears pouring down my face; it was like I felt every emotion that I had ever experienced hitting me all at once. Something about being on a plane, in night-lighting made it even more surreal/powerful.

That was one of the most powerful scenes in my life i have ever seen. To this day i can't express what hit me. In the theatre i had tears in my eyes and my girlfriend knew that. She had too.

Seeing this in the cinema in 2011 gave me chills and left me with tears rolling down my face. I don't know how to describe seeing The Tree of Life in a theater. If you are open to Malick's visual poetry, witnessing scenes like this in the cinema was comparable to a religious experience.

Malick directing a "2001"-esque Sci-Fi epic with this visual style when it comes to the effects is something I need in my life.

It's something everyone's felt at some point: human existence is insignificant and void among the universe, and when trying to make this feeling into a scene, it deserves a Lacrimosa like this, and images such as these. It's perfect, maybe pretentious, but also unique and trully moving. It's the best scene in the movie, althought maybe most of the people wouldn't be so confused if it had been located somewhere during Jack's loss of inocence, and not in the beginning...

"Where were you?"

But really, this was one of the most astonishingly beautiful sequences I have ever seen committed to film.

"The tree of life" me ha conmocionado profundamente....una obra de arte integral, que recrea nada menos los interrogantes del Libro de Job de la Biblia, y va mucho más allá. Sólo Tarkovsky o Kubrick se han planteado semejantes desafíos espirituales y estéticos, como lo ha logrado Maleck. La historia del Universo, de la música y de nuestras vidas...¿Es posible llorar ante la belleza extrema?

This film is a magnificent testament to our place in the universe and the universe's place in us. What a moving and intelligent work!

I wish this scene went on longer, so great.

Although Terrence Malick has never stated that he believes in God, his films are some of the best reasons as to why someone like myself believes in a creator and a hereafter. His films are also open enough so that atheist's can marvel at the beauty of nature, but the way be presents his themes and questions, either that man knows God exists or he is desperately searching for something more. No one has put the beauty of our world in such simple and majestic form as Terrence Malick.

1:28 Noting to major just noticed a black speck in the upper middle area of the shot. Assumed for the longest time it was a moon or planet but watching it again it turns into a "0" shape. I remember most of these effects were made in liquid oils and waters so what we were actually seeing was part of the effects mixture breaking apart from the fluids used to make the effect.

The song is Lacrimosa by Zbigniew Preisner in case anyone wanted to know. Amazing composer; a masterpiece.
