Messi and CR7 had godly performances for more than ten seasons. When you think about how Michael Owen, Pavel Nedved and Shevchenko won their ballon d'or, it's safe to say that both Messi and CR7 deserved 10 ballon d'or or more in their careers. Unfortunately, they were playing against each other.

it always amazes me that people have the debate over messi ballon d'or but no one says a thing about ronaldo's awards. He won in 2013 without winning a single trophy, the only player ever who won a balon dor without a trophy, in 2014 he won when neuer should've won by the same logic as 2019, neuer did everything a keeper could've done and he won a world cup. Even in 2016 he was not even in euro team of the season and he was on the bench when his team won but again the balon dor was awarded to him.

If you say Messi deserved it above Lewa, that automatically makes Ronaldo the deserving winner of 2012 for winning La Liga in a year he scored 63 goals

Iniesta was injured more than half the season in 2009-2010 and that caused him to enter a stage of depression which was cured almost before the World Cup, so you cant say that just because he scored in a WC final means he will win the Balon d’or which isn’t a fact
