Anxiety Cells Found in the Brain - How They Did It

Researchers have found the origin of anxiety in the hippocampus of mice. This has far-reaching effects on how we look at and treat anxiety in humans. Neuroscientists at Columbia University Medical Center and University of California San Francisco collaborated on a study and discovered certain brain cells in the hippocampus of mice that fires when the mouse becomes anxious and triggers certain anxiety behaviors. In this video I discuss the details of their findings and discuss the implications this has for future anxiety treatment.

Interesting. Hippocampus is where memory comes from. The ancient Hawaiian practice of Ho'oponopono says that our disorders and illness comes from memories and negative "data" replaying over and over. And ho'oponopono is a way to clean out the data and allow the self to heal. Amazing how these truths were apparent way back then, in various spiritual practices around the workd and are now starting to have more scientific data to support them.

I also struggle with anxiety attack daily, and my mood just turned bad after that. I easily snapped off on anyone and anytime, which interfere and conflict with my work and school. I thought my depression causes that. However, it is because of the brain... I'm new to your channel, and really love it. You actually explain things well in all of your videos.

I am always anxious, my stomach is always reacting with nausea and discomfort, I can’t switch it off and even when I think I’m not anxious, I am because I’m not conscious of it. Other people know and reach out when they notice and it shocks me that they notice when I don’t. It’s so tiring to feel like this

So to sum up - you could actually say "I have hyperactive hippocampus cells in my brain" instead of "I have anxiety"?
