I usually install the vanity faucet before setting the top. I admit it does make caulking behind it a little more difficult, but at my age I dont like rolling around on my back any more than I have to.

Pro tip: put the faucet on before you set the sink! Including attching the water risers and drain assembly! Easiest access!
