I made a guide playbook on how I taught all three of my kids to ski.

I am receiving a lot of questions regarding first steps and how to teach certain things.

“How To Teach A Kid to Ski” is the PDF document many people have asked for! It’s available for sale at:

Is a playbook/guide a substitute for putting in the time? Absolutely not. But it’s a document that some families might find valuable. It’s a culminating resource of both my mindset, tips and tricks and it also has links to gear and the equipment we use.

If you purchase the document and something wasn’t answered - please reach out and ask! I will happily respond with voice memos and answer your question to the best of my ability. I may also update the document with your inquiry so it’s as thorough as can be for others.

This playbook can save you time from scouring the internet looking for information and resources.

I can’t answer every question on our DM’s. Stay tuned for more tutorial and explainer videos to come on YouTube as well!

It’s great for teaching independence. I’ll surely take my kids biking or hiking or skiing to teach them how to be in their own sometimes.

I have had the fortune to be taught how to ski by many accomplished ski instructors. Many of them are high ranking instructors in the Professional Ski Instructors of America association (PSIA). One of the things that I have routinely heard about teaching new skiers, especially young kids, is that initially you are not building skiers, you are building kids who like to be outside in the winter. The skiing comes second, the fun comes first.

Also Lange sells 15, 5 size boots. Ski boots are measured in the Mondo scale, so look that up if you want to know what that is in other standards.

I have taught six of my kids how to ski. They ranged in age from 15 years old down to three my youngest. My three-year-old he was the bravest at that time and when they’re that young they’re so low to the ground they don’t get scared like adults do. My little three-year-old is now six and he has done lots of blue runs with me. My little 10-year-old can do black runs with me too.

Why do any skiers need poles? Is it just so they can remove the bindings? It seems counter intuitive to balance to have poles?

You need to fix your sound. The left channel is damaged.

Too young. I waited until my son was 5 years old. Better muscles.
