Could I Play Bass With Dua Lipa? | Don't Start Now

"Could I Play Bass With" is back!
This is take one of one, and was crammed into my last day before leaving on tour which presented an extra challenge of the time-crunch factor. Nothing like the pressure of getting something done to heighten the senses and focus the mind.
The original was obviously programmed, and I thought it was a fun challenge to learn the song in 5 mins or so, and then hit record with the RKM and the Colour Box from JHS.
This is not a showcase for my playing, but rather a look inside the process of challenging myself to learn music fast and record it accurately. If this was a legit session there were things I would have edited about this take. A couple of E's on the G-string weren't placed the way I would have liked, and I would have perhaps taken a little more time to dial the compression in to get a slightly more "pillowy" sound.
Other factors that wold have been in play had this been a record date include there being a producer there to direct traffic. Every producer has their taste when it comes to sound, time feel and note selection. I can totally see a situation where fills were scrutinized, and bass lines adjusted and improved upon over the course of a few hours in the studio.
