The Great Depression was a tragic time in our history, but the more tragic even, the 2nd World War, somehow helped negate the more sever effects of the Great Depression.
When the war started the government needed men in every field from industries to the war front, and this was the major cause of decline in unemployment rate and with employment people get money to spend on things and with that everyone was on track to do business.

Make point: Great Depression caused a HUGE unemployment issue. WW2 "employed" so many men that women had to fill those jobs - thus lowering the unemployment rate to a very small number. I get it. Makes sense. But I'm sure there's more to it. Gotta keep reading/listening...
