In Austria it is common to have the name lists of the fallen at the church, soldiers memorial or graveyard in their hometown.
In my hometown we recently added one name, went missing in Stalingrad and they found his bones and tags.

Stalingrad had MILLIONS of soldiers fighting in and out of the city. It’ll be near impossible to dig it all up and still find stuff that has never been found before. Really puts into perspective on how large this battle was during WW2
