How to Restore Action Center and More

Did Action Center disappear after running a debloat script or you disabled it and can't get it back? Well, I have created a new project to restore windows 10 components to their stock settings.

I've been long obssesed with ripping out the junk in windows 10. I feel like all of your approaches are not amazing. One script to remove everything with no options isn't good. Should make the script have prompts to ask users what they want to keep. (Things like action center, which i also hate) With little pop up pictures to show them what it is, most people don't know the names of all these windows features. They don't understand how to edit scripts. Definitely look into adding more prompts, maybe a full auto with "reccommended" settings, and a custom option, that prompts for a few key choices.

Thank you so much for this video. I searched for hours after using that script last week and had to fix the action center by editing the registry. I use it for controlling brightness, Bluetooth, and mobile hotspot very often so this was a very important feature for me. But seeing you actually listening and updating it in the script has increased huge respect for this channel. And I've recommended your script to so many of my friends and everyone loves it the same way. Thanks again.

Chris, another nice VOD. I love the idea of debloat scripts, but like many most find issues with them as features that we personally don't like are tied to things we do like. The only way I can think a script would work for the masses is to have a base, then through a GUI fork to a selectable desktop or laptop config. Then fork to different use cases (gaming, productivity, etc.) for each with specific things that the user can select or not. It would be cool, but a boat load of work!

Rule #1: Don't ever run things on your computer that you know nothing about.
If you don't know what a script does, don't run it. If you can't look through it and figure it out, don't run it.
There. Now everyone who complained, did you look through the script? Did you understand what it was going to do? I did, and commented out a bunch of things that I use. No problems at all. I also have been using scripts like this for a long time while building images for work. Decided to look at someone else's work, and Chris has done a very good, if a little extreme, job of pairing down windows to what it should be.

EXCELLENT ... EXCELLENT...
If one can debloat and restore components in Windows 10 by clicking on GUI buttons .... Would not that be just awesome for most people? This is the way to go Chris.

You sold me on Linux and now youve moved back to the dark side, it breaks my heart! Lol joking, great videos Chris. You've been a big inspiration for me.

I ended up going through your debloat script and editing it to my liking to keep the action center among other things, but now that I have it customized to my liking I'll be using it more. Thanks for continuing to improve things and provide options.

i guess this is a teaching moment for us all – don't just run scripts from the internet unless you know what they are gonna do, how, and why. always make backups and restore points!!

Hey Chris, great work on the scrips so far. Thankyou for taking the time to release it, it really helps tackle some of the more annoying 'features' MS decided to put into Windows 10 (call me old but when I think of these 'features' my mind says 'bugs' - call it a holdover from my Windows 9x days). I also applaud that you are listening to the community and adding in options to suite them rather than the rather self obsessed way that larger companies such as MS and Apple tend to work. One thing that would probably be welcomed by many is the option restore Control Panel if you can figure that out as currently MS seems focussed on killing that off right now.

you should probably put the restore options in the main debloat GUI in it's own section, or tab if you know how to do that. I think that will solve a lot of the feedback that you have probably been getting. Great tool, thanks a million!

Thanks Chris. Love your scripts. Might be handy to be able to turn on location services to help with maps and lost laptops. Your script seems to disable this. Love the new gui

Thank you Chris for info on Linux, Windows and iOS as well. Though I don't use iOS but info is power and the fact you do videos on all 3 is very helpful. I know it is frustrating the we cannot get all we want on Linux (I feel that too). But being able to have 2 OS's going on my main PC and Linux on all my others is really fun and they all work great. I'll keep watching if you keep posting! :)

Great video. I've been daily driving PopOS, Ubuntu, and Manjaro on my personal computers; but for work, I rely on the Action Center to enable/disable bluetooth as well. It's far fewer clicks than going into settings.

Thank you for these scripts you're helping me get that one step closer to a super fast customized win10 for my test benchs it's almost stripped to core functionality. Keep up the great work as always loving the channel 👍
