“Has Paul ever been first team All-NBA?”
-Yes. Four times, and second team five times.

JJ always owns the debate stage. Nothing is manufactured or fake. So refreshing to see. Best addition to it in years.

Anybody who thinks JJ is even close to Bob Cousy should never be allowed to talk about basketball again. JJ is just salty because he will never be known as a legendary player. Just plain disrespect

I think “analysts” and commentators lose their credibility when they show favoritism towards one era of any sport. If you can’t say that Chris Paul is one of the greatest PGs of all time; you don’t know what you’re talking about. A great player is someone that could play in any era of the sport; CP3 has the old school toughness balanced with the modern high percentage shooting ability. It’s either a back in the day argument or recency bias stance. You have to evaluate every factor of competition/rules in each era and take that into consideration. Rules did not benefit scorers in older eras as much as they do now. Sometimes it means records held in those older eras are more impressive, sometimes it doesn’t. There are amazing players in all eras of the NBA - it’s so exhausting that we can’t just appreciate greatness and leave it at that.

I love the rotating cast they bring in vs. SA but I would also love to see JJ on the show more consistently. He really challenges the old heads during the debates.

"He’s so hard to root for, ” Russo commented. “Shut up and play. Will you please? America’s tired of Draymond Green." Speak for yourself and the other dinosaurs, Chris. Draymond is hilarious person and gives zero effs what people think about him. America loves that!

The fact that Mad Dog had to ask if CP3 was ever 1st team All-NBA tells me everything I need to know about his NBA knowledge. He’s arguing about topics that he has limited information about, which is a microcosm of the biggest problem of NBA media. (And yes CP3 made 1st team All NBA, 4 times actually)
